How much does a fertility treatment cost?

Certain treatments, such as artificial insemination, are covered under RAMQ.
Unfortunatly IVF treatments are not covered.

 

Does the birth control pill result in sterility?

It is among the most used and studied drugs in the world. All studies assure us that the pill does not prevent pregnancies once stopped.

 

What is the best moment during my cycle for ovulation?

Women who have a regular cycle of 28 to 30 days make a calendar and add 14 days from their first day of menstruation to calculate their window of ovulation. The fertilile period is typically between the 10th and the 20th day of a woman's menstrual cycle. 

 

Can a woman with polycystic ovaries get pregnant?

Yes, many women who have this condition have one or more children. Other women require fertility treatments to help them ovulate.

 

Why does a woman's fertlity decrease with age?

The ovarian reserve diminishes as a woman gets older. A woman is born with all of her eggs, but as she ages, the ovarian reserve and the quality of the eggs diminish. As a woman gets older, there is a higher risk of producing abnormal eggs, which result in a higher rate of miscarriage.
